D6930 covers re-cement or re-bond fixed partial denture. The existing prosthesis is cleaned and re-cemented to the abutment or implant. This code does not cover fabrication of a new prosthesis.

Billing Guide

Bill this code when:

• An existing restoration or appliance is re-cemented using D6930
• The device is intact and only needs to be re-attached
• Documentation confirms the device was previously placed and has loosened

Do not bill this code when:

• A new restoration or appliance is being placed for the first time
• The device is damaged and requires repair or replacement
• The re-cementation is within the payer's bundled period after initial placement
• The procedure is better described by D6920 (Connector bar)
